Five on Friday

Happy Friday! Since I'm on a roll with blogging again, I thought I'd jump right back into my favorite Five on Friday series. Here five things I'm loving today!

//1// Labor Day Weekend - I have always loved Labor Day. It marks the end of summer and beginning of fall (my favorite season). It usually helps to welcome in September which has always been my favorite month (could have something to do with my birthday). And of course it gives us a 3-day weekend! For the most part we are staying low-key and relaxing this weekend.

//2// Megan's Baby Shower - almost two years ago I went to Megan's sister's baby shower and am so excited to head back to Maryland tomorrow for Megan's shower! I have known Megan and Judy since 8th grade and they are the type of friends that you can go months without seeing or even talking to but easily pick right up when you get together. We have shared lot of milestones together over the past few years and I'm looking forward to celebrating this one too!

//3// Naked Green Machine Juice - I love this stuff. I probably drink it at least four times a week for breakfast. I know there's been some controversy about just how healthy these Naked juices are but I believe it's giving me extra nutrients to start my day.

//4// Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner - I received this eyeliner in a Birchbox earlier this summer and love it. I have tried tons of different eyeliners over the years and this is by far the best one for me.

//5// Penn State Football - nothing screams fall more than football, especially Penn State football! I cannot wait to cheer on my Nittany Lions as they take on UCF tomorrow. They are actually playing in Dublin so the game will be on at 8:30am. P and I talked about joining the thousands of other Penn State fans that have flown over to Dublin for the game but with a wedding to attend next week and our big Europe trip planned for October it just didn't make sense. But we will be cheering loudly bright and early tomorrow! Let's Go State!

Have a great weekend!!

Summer Reads

With summer coming to an end (how did that happen already?!), I thought I would share some of my favorite reads.

1. Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
When I read Liane's book, The Husband's Secret, earlier this year I could not put it down and Big Little Lies was no different. It mixes everyday life stories with a "who done it" plot and a bit of twist....throughout the book the reader knows someone had died but it isn't until the end that you know who died, why, and who did it.

2. Friendship by Emily Gould
If you like the TV show Girls, then you will definitely love this book. It follows two friends who turned 30 and are forced to face adulthood and how it will impact their friendship.

3. All the Summer Girls by Meg Donohue
I downloaded this big onto my Kindle after it was recommended by our cousin. It's an easy read (perfect for the  beach) about three childhood friends who end up at the beach where they used to spend their summers as kids. They are all at different places in their adult lives but being at the beach brings up secrets from one fateful night at the beach that impacted all of their lives.

4. Antelope in the Living Room by Melanie Shankle
Melanie Shankle is the blogger turned author who wrote this funny and honest compilation of stories about the real joys and challenges of marriage. I was laughing and nodding in agreement while reading this book.

5. Save the Date by Mary Kay Andrews
I have always thought that Mary Kay Andrews writes the best books for reading on the beach and this one did not disappoint. This one is set in Savannah, GA and follows a florist who is preparing for a wedding that will help launch her career. Of course she has a few hiccups along the way and has to come to terms with her own feelings on love while helping the bride.

Next on my list is The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer. What have you been reading lately?
