Five Things

Happy Friday! Here are five things I'm loving on this warm Friday:

1. Yesterday we celebrated P's 30th birthday. We actually began celebrating last Monday when I started giving him one to three gifts each day and yesterday he was given gifts 29 & 30 (one for each year). We had a nice dinner date last night and will continue celebrating this weekend.

2. Brush N Blush. On Wednesday I met up with two of my favorite ladies for some wine and painting. It's such a fun way to spend an evening with friends.

3. Beautiful Mess App. I read about this app on a couple of other blogs and finally downloaded it yesterday.

4. My Cuisinart Cake Stand. It's amazing how much easier baking cookies and cakes are using this beauty.

5. NYC. We are taking the train to up to the Big Apple tonight to spend the weekend celebrating P's birthday. Our hotel is right near Central Park!

Wedding Pictures: Reception

This is the final installment of our wedding pictures.....

The cocktail hour and reception were held on the 14th floor of the Key Bridge Marriott. The space has breathtaking views of Georgetown and Washington, DC which gave us the exact feel we wanted for our day. P and I both agree that the reception went by too fast. We loved dancing and celebrating with our family and friends and will never forget the love we felt that night.

Here we come!

The dads welcomed the guests together

The moms gave a prayer together

Our tables were decorated with low centerpieces of light pink roses, white hydrangeas, and touches of blue hydrangeas. We chose silver chiavari chairs with navy blue cushions. I made the table numbers using navy blue and light pink stock paper and on the back of each table number was a fun fact about P and E.

Our cake with a view of the Key Bridge behind it

Close up of the chairs. I was inspired by Pinterest to make the initials for our chairs.

Our first dance to "Someone Like You" by Van Morrison

Dancing with my dad to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland

P and his mom danced to "Child of Mine" by Carole King

We took a moment to thank everyone

Penn State alumni were well represented!

And then we danced.....

......and danced

And they lived happily ever after......

Wedding Pictures: Formal Pictures

After the ceremony we took the traditional formal pictures at the church with our family and bridal party. Then we took pictures around the church and Georgetown waterfront with our bridal party. We are so thankful for the beautiful weather that allowed us to take such amazing pictures!

Wedding Pictures: Ceremony

Our ceremony was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown. We have been members of Holy Trinity for over five years and always knew that we would be married there. Our priest attended Georgetown University with P's dad which made an extra special connection. My favorite thing about our ceremony pictures are they perfectly capture how happy we both felt on April 13th.

I will never forget the feeling when those doors opened and we took our first step into the church

I could not stop smiling the whole walk down the aisle

Finally together! I love the look on P's face

Our priest gave a wonderful homily

Wedding Pictures: Getting Ready

We were very fortunate to receive our wedding pictures two weeks after the wedding. We have enjoyed going through them several time and sharing them with friends and family. I thought I would share some of my favorites of the day over a couple of posts. Enjoy!

The morning of the wedding I got ready with my bridal party in a suite atop the Key Bridge Marriott overlooking Georgetown. It was a beautiful day and I'll alway cherish the memories of getting ready with my favorite ladies.

Allison helped me with the veil. It was the veil Allison wore at her wedding and my "something borrowed"

P and the groomsmen also got ready at the Key Bridge Marriott. They took a few pre-wedding ceremonies around the area where our cocktail hour would be and around the church.
